This new building is relocated within the refurbished 85,000 sq ft of the former Dynevor Comprehensive School, including the creation of a dramatic corner feature on five levels, linking the two existing wings with a contemporary insertion.
The key design elements were to provide a new infill building in a prominent city centre location with a contemporary architectural theme and produce a landmark building for the University. The use of substantial glazing in public areas allows views into the heart of the Centre, and refurbishment of existing buildings with new rooftop glazing provides modern education facilities. The re-designed south-facing courtyard provides a pleasant environmental and visually interesting area that creates a sense of place within the heart of the development.
