We are delighted to announce a number of staff promotions. Sara Ifan and Andrew Beadle have both been promoted to Associates and Oliver Henshall to Technical Associate.
Sara Ifan, first joined Powell Dobson in 2011, and has gained experience working in a variety of sectors. In 2016, Sara won Young Achiever of the Year Award at the CEW Awards and is currently the Chairperson on the Women In Property for South Wales committee. She has also recently featured in the Top 35 Under 35 on Walesonline: the top young professional and business women in Wales 2018. Sara is also a CITB Construction Ambassador, and regularly volunteers, and works with schools and universities, to promote the industry, and the opportunities for young people within construction.
Andrew Beadle, has also been with Powell Dobson since 2011. He has led the implementation of BIM on both major projects and in the office itself. In addition to the above, Andrew is also involved in raising industry awareness of BIM locally. He has sat on the CIC Welsh BIM Hub for 2 years and has presented at major events throughout the country using case studies to give specific examples of how BIM has benefitted individual projects. Andrew also recognises that the future of BIM lies with the next generation, and has acted as guest lecturer (BIM) and Revit trainer at the Welsh School of Architecture.
Oliver Henshall who is a qualified Chartered Architectural Technologist, has experience delivering residential, commercial, animal welfare projects over the past few years. Oliver is one of our Revit Champions, and he has just recently taken up the post of Chairman of the CIAT for South Wales to promote the industry and opportunities like Sara above.
Other promotions within the practice include Ceri Blackmore and David Way (Swansea Office) who have been promoted to Technical Managers. Both Ceri and David are BIM champions and help lead the teams in both Cardiff and Swansea.
Rebecca Wheaton has been promoted to Senior Architect. Rebecca has been with Powell Dobson for a total of 7 years. She has extensive experience of the education sector. Robert Williams in our London office has also been promoted to Senior Architect. Rob began his career at Powell Dobson Cardiff in 2007 where he was an integral member of the residential team for the duration of his University studies. In 2011, Rob rejoined Powell Dobson and qualified as an architect in 2014. Upon qualification he relocated to our expanding London studio, taking with him his extensive experience of working for both private developers and affordable housing providers.
Charlotte Balcombe has been promoted from architect to Project Architect. Charlotte has been with us for 3.5 years and in that time has worked in both the residential and education studios. She is also a CITB Construction Ambassador promoting the industry to the next generation.
Ewa Dylka in our London Office has also been promoted from architect to Project Architect. Ewa has been in our London studio for 3 years and has recently been involved in the Camley Street project through the construction period.
Carwyn Jones has been promoted from Technologist to Project Technologist. Carwyn has been with us for nearly 4 years have joined us following his university course. He has become a key part of the Cardiff office working within the education studio supporting the technical team on some of the most recent secondary and primary schools.
Jordan Smith has also been promoted from Technologist to Project Technologist. Jordan has been with us for nearly 4 years, joining us from university at the same time as Carwyn. Jordan works within the residential studio and supports Oli with the large residential projects that we are delivering for Curo and the new Dogs Trust project in Cardiff.
Gemma Stockwell from our London office has also been promoted from Technologist to Project Technologist. She has been with Powell Dobson for 4 years also and has developed her Revit skills to support the London studio in project delivery through the use of Revit and BIM and continues to deliver the highest quality work on a number of projects.
Finally, Jodie Dunne in our Swansea office has been promoted from Technical Assistant to Technologist. Jodie has been with us for 2 years having worked originally in our Cardiff office on a number of education projects before transferring closer to home in the Swansea studio.
