Development works start on The Mill site today

Transforming the previously known Ely Paper Mill

Dec 2015

Work starts today on the Powell Dobson designed £100m housing development that will see a derelict industrial site in West Cardiff transformed into an 800 home 'urban village'. Known as 'The Mill', the new development will include both affordable and open-market housing ranging from one bedroom apartments to four bedroom detached houses. This pleasant and sustainable environment will include community facilities such as a village centre with a variety of shops and a Doctors surgery in a neighbourhood centre forming the heart of the development. There will be access to cycle-paths and a large riverside park creating a fantastic environment for a new community on the fringe of the city.

The Mill will provide people with high quality neighbourhoods that have a distinct sense of place; where they feel safe and where they want to live. Up to 1,000 jobs are expected to be created during the construction.
